Learn Greek With Avdi
A structured online learning experience for adult learners who want real progress in Greek.
How Group Courses Work
Live online group classes follow a structured weekly progression. Students learn through real communication, guided practice, and continuous feedback. Each group is small, allowing active participation and steady development.
Why this course works
This course is designed around structured progression, guiding learners step by step from beginner to advanced levels in a clear and consistent way.
Τhe focus is on real communication, ensuring that grammar and vocabulary are always connected to practical use in everyday situations.
Learning takes place in small, supportive groups that allow for active participation, personal attention, and steady development.
Grammar is introduced in context, making it easier to understand and apply without memorisation of isolated rules.
Each learner follows a personalised learning path, adapted to their level, pace, and individual goals.
A1 - Beginner
A1 is the starting point for learners who have little or no previous knowledge of Greek. At this level, students begin building the foundations of communication through essential vocabulary, basic grammar structures, and highly frequent language patterns used in everyday life.
The focus is on understanding and producing simple spoken and written messages related to personal information, family, nationality, numbers, time, dates, food, shopping, and daily routines. Learners gradually become familiar with the Greek alphabet and develop confidence in reading and writing short texts.
By the end of A1, students can introduce themselves, ask and answer simple questions, complete basic forms, understand short announcements, and participate in very simple interactions when communication is clear and supported by context.
Typical communicative situations include introducing oneself, ordering food or drinks, asking for directions, making simple purchases, and exchanging basic personal information.
B1 - Intermediate
B1 marks the transition from basic language use to independent communication. Learners are no longer limited to memorised expressions but can express personal opinions, narrate events, and participate in conversations on familiar topics with increasing confidence.
Students develop the ability to understand the main points of clear spoken and written language related to work, studies, travel, culture, and current interests. They begin producing longer spoken and written texts, connecting ideas logically and supporting their views with simple explanations.
Grammar and vocabulary expand significantly, allowing learners to use a wider range of structures and communicate with greater flexibility. Errors may still occur, but communication is generally successful and understandable.
By the end of B1, learners can manage most situations encountered while travelling or living in Greece and can maintain conversations on topics of personal relevance without constant support.
B2 - Upper Intermediate
B2 represents a strong level of independent language use. Learners are able to communicate with fluency and spontaneity in a wide range of social, academic, and professional situations.
At this stage, students can understand complex texts and discussions, identify main ideas and supporting arguments, and participate actively in conversations with native speakers. They can express opinions clearly, compare viewpoints, justify decisions, and discuss abstract concepts with increasing precision.
Vocabulary becomes richer and more nuanced, while grammatical control improves substantially. Learners are able to adapt their language according to context and communicative purpose.
By the end of B2, students can engage confidently in extended conversations, follow lectures and presentations, understand media content, and produce detailed spoken and written texts on a variety of topics.
C1 - Advanced
C1 corresponds to an advanced level of proficiency and allows learners to use Greek effectively in demanding communicative environments. Students can understand complex and extended texts, recognise implicit meanings, and process information from multiple sources.
Communication at this level is characterised by fluency, flexibility, and accuracy. Learners can express themselves spontaneously, organise ideas coherently, and adapt their language according to audience, register, and purpose.
They are able to participate successfully in academic discussions, professional meetings, presentations, debates, and sophisticated social interactions. Written production becomes more structured and stylistically controlled, allowing learners to produce reports, essays, and formal correspondence.
By the end of C1, students can function confidently in Greek-speaking academic, professional, and social environments with minimal linguistic limitations.
C2 - Mastery
They can synthesise information from multiple sources, formulate sophisticated arguments, and communicate with a high degree of stylistic control. Both spoken and written production demonstrate accuracy, coherence, and sensitivity to audience and purpose.
By the end of C2, learners are able to operate effectively and confidently in virtually any Greek-speaking context, including academic research, professional communication, public speaking, and advanced cultural engagement.
How progression works
Students move through levels based on structured assessment, teacher feedback, and learning progress. Each level builds naturally on the previous one.
