Build confidence in everyday Greek
A structured continuation of A1, aligned with CEFR A2 and the proficiency descriptors of the Centre for the Greek Language (CGL).
What you will learn at A2
At A2, learners expand their ability to communicate in everyday situations and become more confident using Greek in their daily lives.
The course helps learners move beyond basic phrases and begin expressing themselves more independently. Learners develop the language skills needed to talk about experiences, routines, plans, preferences, and practical matters while interacting more comfortably with Greek speakers.
According to CEFR & ΚΕΓ, by the end of A2 learners can:
- understand frequent expressions related to daily life
- communicate in simple, direct exchanges
- describe experiences, habits, and immediate needs
- handle short social interactions
- write simple connected texts on familiar topics.
Language skills
The course develops all four language skills through practical communication activities and real-life situations that learners encounter while living, travelling, studying, or working in Greece.
Listening
Students can understand:
short, clear dialogues
announcements and instructions related to daily life
simple conversations about work, family, shopping, travel
Speaking
Learners can:
describe their routine, habits, and personal background
talk about plans and preferences
handle simple transactions (shops, cafés, transport)
ask for clarification and respond appropriately
Reading
Learners can understand:
short articles and descriptions
simple emails, messages, and notes
everyday texts such as menus, timetables, signs.
Writing
Learners can:
write short paragraphs
describe experiences and events
write simple emails and messages with connected sentences.

Present tense (revision + irregular verbs)
Past tenses: Aorist (simple past) & Imperfect (basic use)
Future tense (θα + verb)
Adjectives (agreement, common patterns)

Basic modal expressions (μπορώ, πρέπει)
Comparatives & superlatives (basic forms)
